Senior / Principal Mechanical Project Engineer.

 

 Determines the technical approach, applies creativity and advanced concepts to aiding in the design and development of complex products, development and mechanical systems

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for planning the engineering approach that meets contract requirements and implements Engineering procedures scaled and tailored to the needs of projects, establishing customer needs and developing and managing engineering requirements, developing and evaluating the product system level design, integrating the product configuration items and verifying that the integrated product meets customer requirements, and integrating the engineering specialty disciplines in a manner that assures that the product meets its requirements.Concerns itself with product integration with higher level systems. May involve interfaces that are mechanical, electrical and/or embedded. Position requires broad knowledge of mechanical applications, electrical applications, hardware and software integration, evaluation and verification through testing. Provides design, interface definition and test methods, which include concept design hierarchy, configuration item level design, test and verification. Definition of performance requirements for electrical/mechanical components, software and test equipment. Formal problem root cause analysis and corrective action planning and execution.Work performed with minimal supervision guided by policies and precedent. Comprehensive knowledge of discipline and full capability of applying principles, concepts and practice in arriving at solutions to problems of moderate complexity. Has considerable latitude in making decisions which may have relatively significant impact on the program/project. May function in project leadership role on moderately sized project or report to more senior leader on large projects.    

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable engineering, technical, or science discipline 
  • Masters degree in engineering preferred  
  • Minimum of 8 years recent experience 
  • Must be a US citizen 

 

  • Compensation  $96,000 and up to 121,000 (depending on level of experience)  Relocation package available
